The proposed access arrangement will upgrade the existing mini-roundabout junction with Godmans Lane, managing through traffic on the A120 and making it easier to exit from the existing village.

Inclusion of a signalised crossing as part of the access will also help to link the existing and proposed development to the north of the A120, including the existing bus stops, with the remainder of the village in a direct and safe manner.

Drone surveys have identified that at Junction 25 queuing at the Coggeshall Road / Station Road Roundabout is most often the result of vehicles stopping at the pedestrian crossing rather than the capacity of the junction itself.

Discussions with National Highways have identified potential changes to the lane markings and priorities that would help better manage the existing issues to which the development could contribute.

Surveys of the existing village have also been used to estimate the potential impact of the proposed development which would equate to approximately
one additional vehicle movement per minute during the peak hour for the development but lower volumes outside of this time.
